Amy Hansen Harding grew up in the middle of a great big family with a book in her hand and a love for the power of sharing stories. As a former middle school teacher with a B.A. in English and a professional certification in Writing for Children, she now creates stories celebrating the joy of connection and the beauty of the one among the whole.
As a military spouse and mother of a great big family of seven kids, she believes in the rewards of doing hard things. Amy has made a home in every corner (and even island) of the U.S. and has fallen in love with all kinds of people, all kinds of places, all kinds of experiences, and all kinds of stories. Though she now has family and friends scattered all over the world and loves to travel to visit them. She currently calls the Olympic Peninsula of Washington home, where she homeschools her youngest, teaches marriage and parenting workshops with her husband, and can often be found public speaking, leading, or organizing in her community. When she needs to refuel she can be found admiring flowers, hiking, kayaking, taste-testing all the best chocolates, and watching comedy with her teens.
Amy is a former mentee of Bethany Hegedus and is a member of the Verge Community and SCBWI . Amy is repped by Kelly Dyksterhouse of Tobias Literary.
Fun fact: Amy has adventured through twelve cross-country road trips. Since her travels have only included 48 of the 50 states, her apologies go out to Maine, and Alaska….she's coming!
